Poplar Grove Trails

Not every equestrian development has 5,000 acres of trails.  The canal system can also be used for canoeing and hiking.  There is various terrain to ride with ample space for long gallops.  The trails are well marked. Yesterday while on horseback at Poplar Grove just 17 miles from downtown Charleston SC, we spotted two bald eagles preening in the oak trees above the canal. On the marsh side of the property we saw some beautiful water birds skimming fish from the brackish creek water. Riding down these beautiful trails, the rice fields of a bygone era you are transported to a simpler time. A Charleston where agriculture was our economy and horses were our transportation.
